Our goals are:  

• To look after the user´s social and public interests in our capacity as their special interest organisation.

• To start social and cultural activities, give our individual members support, information and advise.

• To fight for our rights to individually adapted treatments in Sweden, to make sure that the user is allowed to participate in designing the treatment to make this optimal.

• To give the individual user an opportunity to plead his/hers cause, to be able to present one´s demands and viewpoints in the public, for example through the SBF association´s homepage on the Internet.

• We demand insight into the methadone/buprenorphine activties in order to be able to cover the legal security aspects.

• To clarify and make circumstances visible that characterize the user´s social, economic and political situation in the society.

• We demand the same freedom of choice as other groups enjoy in the health care sector.

• To counteract discrimination and to rectify powerlessness.

• To work active to make the user´s experiences available to public authorities, the health care sector and so on, through cooperation, seminars and culture activities.

•To act as the user´s mouthpiece and establish contacts with authorities, politicians, medium and the health care sector.

• To participate in the debate, through campaign work, articels, letters to the editor and so on, to make the user´s situation and needs visible by using the democratic tools.

• The preventive work is important, foremost directed to the schoolchildren.
